The "Kapsos" Deep Muscle System is a specialized technique focusing on the body's muscles and is unlike common conventional massage therapy.
When providing this deep muscle workout, we concentrate on two major areas for each muscle. These are the origin and the insertion points. The origin of the muscle is where it connects itself to the skeletal structure whereas the insertion area is at the opposite end of the muscle and is the part that attaches to a bone or joint. By 'releasing' undo tension at the origin and insertion points, the tissues between these areas become much more relaxed and supple. This is one of the major keys to the success of this treatment. Of course, all the muscle groups between these areas must be worked on as well.
When you think about it, your muscles comprise 70% of your body's weight and are responsible for all body movement. When you have limited range of motion, you need to consider this type of work. Deep muscle work literally 'gives life' back to the muscles.
Without this workout, the muscle can never contract and relax. In other words, unless the congestion, tension and adhesions of deep layered muscles are released, you can never fully recover from any muscular condition you may be suffering from. Our goal is to obtain long term positive results when treating crippling muscle conditions, rather than just reaching a plateau where a client must live with limited success.
The Kapsos Deep Muscle System treatment covers areas of the head (skull and face), shoulders, arms, hands and fingers, neck, chest, abdomen, groin, hips, legs including feet and toes, and the entire back and buttocks.
Some of the conditions that respond successfully to deep mucle therapy are back pain, many types of headaches, neck problems, bursitis, foot problems, earaches, arthritis, epilepsy, muscle cramps, TMJ, tennis elbow, carpal tunnel, stroke impairments, Cerebral Palsy, Muscular Dystrophy, Multiple Sclerosis and a host of additional maladies.
While conventional body massage therapy session rakes about 1 hour, deep muscle therapy can often take two or more hours as we are going after many more muscles in a special therapeutic manner.
Maureen Wagner has been certified in Deep Muscle Therapy. If you would like to receive the benefits of this program, whether it be for a localized one hour or the complete 2 to 3 hour body session, we will be happy to arrange it for you. Maureen works by appointment only. Contact us here.
